2009
Wootton and East Hunsbury Parish Council have decided that in 2009 we will not only have the free community day on the Saturday but on the Friday night they will be holding a ticketed tribute night.
This year will see the return of the crowd pleasing Take That 2 and Party. After their huge success headlining the 2008 event it was felt only right to bring them back.
Along side Take That 2 and Party we have managed to secure further tribute acts from Christina Aguilera and Girls R Aloud. We will have the fantastic Laura White, X Factor finalist.
2008
2008 was a spectacular event where we brought things back to a single day community based event.
The day started of with a 1 mile fun run and Rushden Town Band playing welcoming the runners home right through to the finale of the evening with Take That 2 and Party who drew in the crowds despite the cooler weather.
During the day we say performance from several different bands and schools within the community and Mereway School provided a fantastic performing arts marque through the day. For the younger ones at heart there was a Victorian fayre.
2007
2007 was a fantastic year for ‘A Walk in the Park’ and one that will go down in history not only within the Parish Council but in the wider community.
We were privileged enough to be able to invite the world renown Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to the recreation ground. Where they performed to an audience of several thousand. A big thank you to them for an outstanding performance which was enjoyed by all.
