Music legend Midge Ure will headline, and round off, the Friday night The Walk In the Park extravaganza on June 29. BBC Northampton presenter John Griff will host the evening’s entertainment.

Midge, who is appearing at Walk In The Park as part of his UK Tour, will be on stage at 9.30pm, and will entertain the crowds for an hour.

Local singer Leanne Boyes will get the musical entertainment underway at 6.45pm, followed by Odd Child (7.15), X-Factor favourites Two Shoes (7.45), Errol Reid from China Black (8.15), with popular Northampton band Anyone Out There warming up the crowds before Midge Ure’s appearance.

“It’s a fantastic line-up, and it’s going to be a wonderful evening of entertainment,” said chairman of the organising committee Brandon Eldred. “There’s something for everyone, there’s a mixture of top class local acts and performers who are well known nationally, and I’m really excited about it.

“I’m also delighted that John Griff will be hosting the event – Radio Northampton have been very supportive once again, and it’s great that our local radio station is supporting this terrific local event.

“John’s a very talented presenter, he’s also a local guy and knows how much Walk In The Park means to the local community, and with everything set in place, I can’t wait for the big night.”
